U.S. Veteran

Donald Lewis MacPherson was born on July 10, 1957 in Norfolk Virginia and entered into enternal rest on Wednesday May 23, 2012. Donald worked  hard, played hard and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Donald was reared and raised by the late Ida and John " Bubba" Bethea. They provided a wonderful and loving home environment. Donald`s birth parents are Ruth Belin Freeman and the late Bill MacPherson.

Donald was introducded to Christ at an early age and was a life long member of Weston Chapel AME Church, Latta, South Carolina. He attended Latimer High School. After graduation, Donald entered the military and spent the next twenty-one years of his life serving his country, retiring at the rank of staff sergeant. The highlight of his military career culminated in him being appointed to the position of Drill Sergeant with the responsibility of training new recruits.

Affectionately known as "Big Don" Donald had the "Gift of Gab". He was never lost for words. He never met a stranger and would welcome conversation with all. Fun loving, yet very opinionated. Donald could intelligently discuss anything from politics to religion, you had better speak quickly if you wanted to say somethig between his sentences. He loved GOD; he loved his family and loved his friends.

Preceding Donald in death are his loving parents; John and Ida Bethea, one sister; Edna (Gordon) Legette, two brothers; Herbert and James Ervin Bethea.

He leaves to cherish memories to his wife: Phyllis; two daughters; Kameko and Juanita ; two sons Donato and Ronald; a loving mother Ruth Belin Freeman and several brothers and sisters; John Bethea Jr., James (Laura) Belin, Mary Belin, Tyrone (Sharon) MacPherson, Lamont (Janice) MacPherson and Tammy (Mickey) Hurling; a special brother Ranaldo Myers and a special sister, Maxine Livingston, a special sister-in-law Deloris Bethea. Donald was a loving uncle to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Donald`s work here is done. He is now rejoicing with GOD and the Saints in his new home. To GOD Be the Glory of is life.
